  11. The Hack Report is a monthly list of hacked programs,
  12. hoaxes, Trojan Horses, and pirated commercial software seen
  13. posted for download on BBS systems across the country and
  14. around the world.  The report is intended to help BBS SysOps
  15. and Users avoid fraudulent files.
  16.  
  17. The information in the report is compiled from reports in
  18. the FidoNet International Echos SHAREWRE and WARNINGS (where
  19. the report is posted as a series of messages on the first
  20. Sunday of every month), reports in other echos and networks,
  21. reports from individuals to the author, and from research
  22. done by The HackWatchers and the author.

  24. This has not been a very good month here at Hack Central
  25. Station:  not only was the report delayed by a week due to a
  26. back injury, but the August issue was the subject of a hack.
  27. It isn't the first time, and it won't be the last.  Also, a
  28. file reported as a hoax last month has been reclassified as
  29. a Trojan, and many new pirated files surface.  Thanks to
  30. everyone who has helped put this report together, and to
  31. those that have sent in comments and suggestions.

  33. This report is published as a public service of the FidoNet
  34. International Echos SHAREWRE and WARNINGS, and by the
  35. author, which means it is free to all readers.  Distribution
  36. of the file to other BBS systems is encouraged, subject to
  37. these conditions:

  40.         2) it is posted in its entirety, and
  41.         3) it is not altered in any way.

  44. leave the filename in its original HACK????.* format.  The
